Weaknesses: He has a slight Japanese accent...
Strengths: ...but it’s certainly much less pronounced than some of the other Vocaloids (Rin+Len, Luka, Miku, Kaito, Meiko, Gumi). You can tell that his voice donor worked really hard on his English. I’ve also heard that he’s relatively easy to use.
Examples: The Best That You Can Be, All Star (yes), Paradise, A Happy Ending That Nobody Knows, Near, Never Gonna Give You Up (no seriously, it actually has pretty good tuning), When Can I See You Again, Plane Theory
Reception: Umm… Fukase has become the Vocaloid Memelord, and knowing the Internet, it’s probably because of his name. Oh well, at least it’s kept him from being forgotten. He’s also respected as high quality- I mean, he was made by Yamaha, after all. Interesting story about that. His voice donor, Satoshi Fukase from the band SEKAI NO OWARI (you may have heard of them- they collaborated with Owl City on the song Tokyo), sent a request for making a Vocaloid to Yamaha in 2014… by snail-mail. Eventually Yamaha accepted.
My opinion: He’s one of my favorites, and I’m happy that he’s popular. He also sounds a bit like Adam Young (Owl City), which is another plus.
